RETI Center is on a mission to give us back the precious green edge that our city needs to re-establish its aquatic ecosystem and our BlueBlocks Floating Gardens are doing just that!
Join us Wednesday, July 24th at the Waterfront Museum to celebrate the launch of our new gardens in Red Hook, built by our Summer Youth Employment Program participants. Have a great time while contributing to making sure our water and land thrive for generations to come. This event is from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm! You can also come early at 9:00 am to help build and get your hands on these trailblazing building blocks to a more sustainable Red Hood, New York City and world.

About RETI Center BlueBlocks Floating Gardens
Launched in March 2021, BlueBlock Floating Gardens help soften the city’s hard coastal edges. BlueBlock Floating Gardens are a modular system inspired by lilypads, built entirely of salvaged and reclaimed materials, and float on a bed of recycled corks. They are designed as a kit to be easily assembled and launched by our volunteers and barge visitors. These ground breaking structures were first exhibited in the Venice Biennale of Architecture and are an innovative and evolving design project created in collaboration with thread collective.
